Perinatal services directory
The perinatal services directory is designed for parents and the organizations that work with them. It is a tool designed to list all perinatal services in the Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine region in one place, to facilitate research and referrals.
When you find out you’re pregnant, register with Ma grossesse for a free, fast and confidential access to information and services tailored to your needs during your pregnancy.
For pregnancy and childbirth follow-ups, there are several options available to you :
Follow-up with a family doctor and delivery in the hospital maternity unit;
Follow-up with a midwife, for a home birth or in the hospital maternity unit;
Follow-up with a nurse practitioner with a delivery in the hospital maternity unit.
Are you wondering whether the tasks in your job could involve physical hazards to your health, that of your unborn child or that of the child you are breast-feeding? Talk to your pregnancy or postnatal care professional to find out if you are eligible for the Pour une maternité sans danger program.
Some programs provide support for pregnant women and their partners. To find out more about the OLO program and the SIPPE program (Services intégrés en périnatalité et petite enfance) and to see if you are eligible, contact your nearest CLSC.
If you’re planning to send your child to daycare, register now for La Place 0-5 and update your profile as and when you wish.
Unfortunately, you haven’t been able to find a daycare center despite all your efforts? We invite you to visit the Zéro Place and Ma place au travail websites.
Interested in reusable hygiene products (washable sanitary napkins, menstrual pants, menstrual cups and/or washable baby diapers)? Ask your municipality about subsidy programs.
The list in the perinatal services directory is not exhaustive, but we want it to be as complete as possible. If you know of or offer a service that is not listed here, we invite you to contact us at scharmouille@femmesgim.qc.ca.
The perinatal services directory is not yet fully translated. However, resources offering services in English are. A review of perinatal services available in English in the region will follow in due course.
